Computer Education and Instructional Technology

Turkey has been participating in the European Union, Educational and Youth Programs since April 2004. Hacettepe University, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology is currently looking for partner institutions for cooperation. We are interested in setting up a Socrates/Erasmus exchange plan for students and teaching staff based on a bilateral agreement with your department.

Hacettepe University, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology would be attractive for your students and teaching staff for many reasons. Hacettepe is one of the leading universities in Turkey with a student population of 30,000 in eleven faculties, fourteen vocational schools, twelve institutes, and the State Conservatoire. The University enjoys a high profile and is reputed for its work in a range of disciplines both nationally and internationally. The University ranks as the Turkish State University with the highest national and international research publications in indexed and refereed national and international journals.

The Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology is the leading department among other similar departments in Turkey. The Department offers not only an undergraduate degree (takes four years to complete) but also Masters and Doctoral level graduate degrees. Teaching staff is composed of 8 Ph.D. holders, 3 of which earned their degrees in USA. There are also 13 research assistants working for the department.

At Hacettepe University, the office for the EU Educational and Youth Programs has already been established and this office provides fast and efficient dissemination of information to students and staff, thus contributing to the promotion of activities in the Socrates/Erasmus programs. Currently, Intensive Language Preparatory Courses (ILPCs) are planned for incoming and outgoing Erasmus students.
